Recommendations for QR Anchor placement onsite for the most accurate 3D BIM viewing experience.
Before you attempt to place the QR Anchors on the jobsite, please ensure they have already been added to your Revit model, and that the Field and Office have fully coordinated the placement.
Based on best practices, the QR Anchors should have been placed in the Revit model under the following guidance:
1. By entryways of the building, which will allow your Field team to activate the TruScope app on your device upon entering the building.
2. On known landmarks, such as structural columns, which are easy for the Field team to locate onsite.
Please see best options for QR Anchor placements marked in yellow in the drawing below.
- The same QR Anchors that are placed in the model must be printed and placed exactly the same in the Field environment.
- For early Project phases, we recommend placing QR Anchors 5’-0” up on the center of a column for ease of use and to avoid foot traffic scuffing or tearing the QR Anchors.
- Towards the end of the Project, we recommend moving the QR Anchors to the end of the door jambs, elevated to 5’-0” for easy viewing and to continue avoiding foot traffic.
- There are no special requirements for QR Anchor printing but do be advised that they may experience "wear and tear" overtime due to site conditions. QR Anchors should be replaced onsite every so often to avoid delays in scanning them.
